You have a choice of three health care modules, each providing different levels of medical and dental coverage.
Module A provides basic medical coverage with a $1,000 per person per year deductible. It does not include dental and vision coverage. The company pays the full cost of this coverage.
Module B provides comprehensive medical coverage, including vision care, paramedical services and dental benefits. You share the cost of this coverage.
Module C provides the same comprehensive care as Module B at a higher level of coinsurance for many services, a lower out-of-pocket limit, and other enhancements.
You can elect or update your health care coverage as a new hire (within 31 days of your hire date), during Benefits Open Enrolment or after a qualifying life event.
Qualifying Life Events:
- A change in family or marital status
- The birth or adoption of a child
- A change in coverage for yourself or your dependents under your spouse’s plan
- A change in the eligibility status of your child
- A change in your province of residence
- The death of a dependent
After a life event, you can increase or decrease your health coverage and change your LTD insurance option. You must make the change within 31 days of the event. If you miss that date, then you must wait until the next Benefits Open Enrolment to make changes.
