You will receive a percentage of your income,&nbsp;as long as&nbsp;you qualify for disability&nbsp;leave&nbsp;under the AECOM plans.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Short-term disability (STD) insurance and long-term disability (LTD) insurance are both&nbsp;required&nbsp;for all AECOM employees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LTD benefits end when you no longer meet the definition of disability, when you recover or when you reach age 65.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading mb-3\">Short-Term Disability Plan&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If&nbsp;you\u2019ve&nbsp;been ill or injured for five consecutive business days and are unable to perform your normal work, you may qualify for Short-Term Disability (STD) benefits, which replace 67% of your base pay, for up to 16 weeks (after an elimination period of five business days).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AECOM pays the premium for Short-Term Disability, which means the benefit amount you receive once your STD claim is approved will be taxed as income in alignment with CRA requirements.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to&nbsp;Submit&nbsp;a Claim&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Plan Member Statement and Disability Insurance Medical Statement (DIMS) (formerly Attending Physician Statement) are&nbsp;required&nbsp;for absences of more than 5 consecutive business days for the same illness or disability. Those two forms are sent directly to Sun Life.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Short-Term Disability Request Form is returned to the Leave of Absence Partner (<a href=\"mailto:Katy.veilleu@aecom.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Katy.veilleu@aecom.com<\/a>).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a one-week elimination period (5 business days) before STD benefits begin.&nbsp;&nbsp;During this time, you may use&nbsp;paid flexible time-off (FTO) (Project:&nbsp;04001001, Task:&nbsp;100, Type:&nbsp;Sick_FTO).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sun Life, AECOM\u2019s disability administrator, will become the source of your STD payments after the 5-day elimination period.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You do not need to complete timesheets after the first 5 days, unless the leave starts in the middle of the week \u2014 in this case, you can use the LOA code for the&nbsp;remainder&nbsp;of the week (starting on day 6): Project: 0400100, Task: 60, Type: LOA (leave without pay).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting on day six of the leave, there&nbsp;shouldn\u2019t&nbsp;be any earnings from AECOM as it would be covered by Sun Life under the short-term disability program.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Long-Term Disability Plan&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are still unable to work after being on approved STD for 17 weeks, you may qualify for LTD benefits.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your LTD benefits will continue for as long as you are totally disabled (up to age 65) and under the care of a medical doctor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column sticky-sidebar is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:30%\">\n<section
