In an emergency situation, a family member may notify <a>The Hartford<\/a> on the employee\u2019s behalf. The appropriate amount may vary depending on <a>work<\/a> state. Please see the timesheet instructions found <a href=\"https:\/\/benefits.aecom.com\/us\/leaves-of-absence-and-disability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> under each leave type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not approve any PTO\/FTO usage beyond the first five business days of <a>an absence<\/a>. Doing so may result in an overpayment that <a>would need<\/a> to be recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Timesheets should not autogenerate during a leave of absence. What is the difference between the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Short-Term Disability?      <\/button>\n    <\/h2>\n    <div id=\"accordion-1775498851722-eo7gnrc4l\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion-1765443913828-tqu26noht\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-body\">\n        \n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"  \">FMLA is a Leave of Absence that is unpaid and provides job protection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"  \">Short Term Disability is a wage replacement.&nbsp; Pay may come from:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"  \">Short-Term Disability (STD)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"  \">Paid Parental or Pregnancy Programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"  \">State administered benefits (varies by state)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For questions about pay, Managers can refer employees to The Hartford or the <a href=\"mailto:LOA@aecom.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LOA team<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item wp-block-aecom-blocks-aecom-accordion-item\">\n    <h2 class=\"accordion-header\">\n      <button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#accordion-1775498854424-1gwqeaakb\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"accordion-1775498854424-1gwqeaakb\">\n        6. How are STD benefits paid?      <\/button>\n    <\/h2>\n    <div id=\"accordion-1775498856505-jxe2785l1\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion-1765443913828-tqu26noht\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-body\">\n        \n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"  \">When an STD claim is approved, STD benefits are paid as follows:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"  \">100% of base pay for the first 6 weeks (after waiting period)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"  \">66.67% of base pay after 6 weeks up to a maximum of 26 weeks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Payments are issued by The Hartford, not AECOM .<\/p>\n\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item wp-block-aecom-blocks-aecom-accordion-item\">\n    <h2 class=\"accordion-header\">\n      <button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#accordion-1775498858969-bsctddhou\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"accordion-1775498858969-bsctddhou\">\n        8. What is the STD waiting period?      <\/button>\n    <\/h2>\n    <div id=\"accordion-1775498858969-bsctddhou\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion-1765443913828-tqu26noht\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-body\">\n        \n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"  \">STD has a 7-calendar day \/ 5-business day waiting period.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"  \">During this time, employees may use:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"  \"><strong>FTO<\/strong> (DCS &amp; Corporate exempt employees)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"  \"><strong>PTO<\/strong> (nonexempt, CM, AFS employees)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"  \"><strong>Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Minnesota, and Oregon employees<\/strong> do not have a waiting period, so employees of these states are required to contact the LOA team at <a href=\"mailto:LOA@aecom.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LOA@aecom.com<\/a> to determine how much PTO\/FTO is required for their waiting period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item wp-block-aecom-blocks-aecom-accordion-item\">\n    <h2 class=\"accordion-header\">\n      <button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#accordion-1775498860305-9tt008r3v\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"accordion-1775498860305-9tt008r3v\">\n        9. How do employees complete their timesheet(s)?      <\/button>\n    <\/h2>\n    <div id=\"accordion-1775498860305-9tt008r3v\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" data-bs-parent=\"#accordion-1765443913828-tqu26noht\">\n      <div class=\"accordion-body\">\n        \n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"  \">During the STD period (the first five business days of absence), employees may use up to 40 hours of PTO or FTO.&nbsp; Exempt employees starting their leave mid-week must submit a manual timesheet for the remaining waiting period hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"  \">Non-birthing parents on Parental Leave are required to submit their timesheets using the LWOP Task code 82 (Parental) to ensure that overhead hours do not auto-generate.&nbsp; Payroll will reclassify these hours to the appropriate Paternity Leave coding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item wp-block-aecom-blocks-aecom-accordion-item\">\n    <h2 class=\"accordion-header\">\n      <button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#accordion-1775498861306-ar4s64efp\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"accordion-1775498861306-ar4s64efp\">\n        10.
