The AECOM PTO policy is in the Employee Handbook. The following are key policy provisions and supplemental information including state and local safe/sick requirements.
Eligibility
Regular full-time and part-time, U.S. non-exempt DCS and Corporate employees and all (both non-exempt and exempt) Construction Management and AFS employees. Part-time variable (Casual) and temporary employees are eligible for the safe/sick leave program that may be available where they work based on applicable laws.
Usage
The amount of PTO is based on job level, years of service and actual hours worked. Please refer to the schedule in the handbook. AFS employees should also refer to the AFS Supplement to the handbook.
If an employee is covered by a state or federal prevailing wage law (e.g. Service Contract Act), a collective bargaining agreement, or other contract, the PTO and holidays will follow the schedule outlined in the applicable contract.
The PTO policy encompasses vacation and other personal leaves as well as safe/sick leave. Depending on an employee’s work location, the Company complies with applicable state and local safe/sick leave requirements. To the extent state and local laws provide for greater safe/sick leave benefits than those set forth in the PTO policy, employees shall benefit from the more beneficial laws. For information and questions about safe/sick laws, please contact LOA@aecom.com.
Notice
PTO used for vacation and other personal leaves requires advanced approval by the employee’s immediate supervisor. For PTO used for an applicable safe/sick law, no advanced approval is required but the employee must still notify the supervisor. If an absence is foreseeable, the employee should provide reasonable advanced notice of at least 7 days before the date the leave is to begin. If the absence is unforeseeable, the employee should notify the supervisor of the need to use the leave as soon as practicable.
