Open Enrolment for 2027 benefits takes place October 19 – November 6, 2026. It is your opportunity to review and select the benefits options that best support you and your family. We’re here to help you understand your options and choose the coverage that’s right for you.
Log in to review and confirm your elections by 11:59 p.m. ET on November 6, 2026. Your elections will go into effect on January 1, 2027.
For complete plan details, coverage information, costs, and eligibility requirements, review the 2027 Benefits Guide.
Open Enrolment
What is new in the Canada benefits program for 2027?
All of our current benefits and plan designs, including employee contribution rates will remain the same and will continue next year. You can expect the same benefit options and coverage you’re familiar with today, making it easier to understand and manage your benefits.
Although there are no changes in employee costs for 2027, employees in Quebec will see a slight as the tax rate on insurance premiums will increase from 9.0% to 9.975% on January 1, 2027. The increase is intended to harmonize the insurance premium tax rate with the current Quebec Sales Tax (QST) rate. The new rate will apply to insurance premiums paid after December 31, 2026.
AECOM will continue to cover the full cost of Health Care Module A, meaning if you are enrolled in Module A, you will continue to pay $0 in employee contributions for coverage. Reminder that Module A has a $1,000 deductible, and it does not include dental or paramedical benefits.
All other benefits will continue with the same coverage levels and employee costs.
2027 Biweekly employee contributions for the health care modules
| Module A | Module B | Module C | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Employee only | $0 | $17.04 | $34.81 |
| Employee + 1 | $0 | $34.44 | $66.16 |
| Employee + 2 | $0 | $45.68 | $85.70 |
You can find all your 2027 costs when you enrol online, starting October 19.
How do I enrol?
You will enrol through the AECOM Benefits Service Centre enrolment website. You can access the enrolment website through Microsoft Authenticator if you already have an AECOM Benefits Service Centre account.
If you don’t already have an AECOM Benefits Service Centre account or if you prefer to access the enrolment website with your Access ID (Workday ID) and your account password, you can go to aecombenefitsonline.com. You can find your Access ID on your Sun Life health card.
What happens if I don’t make any changes during Benefits Open Enrolment?
If you don’t enrol by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on November 6, your current 2026 benefits will continue in 2027, and the spending account allocation will automatically be made to the Health Spending Account (HSA) (and cannot be changed after November 6).
Benefits Open Enrolment is a good time to review your benefit selections (and to review/update your beneficiary designations), but if you miss the opportunity, you will receive the default coverage as follows:
| Benefit | 2027 Default Coverage |
|---|---|
| Health care (medical and dental) | You will continue to participate in your current health care module (including telehealth) at 2027 rates, which remain the same as 2026, as AECOM is covering the planned increase in cost. If you live in Quebec and opted out of health and dental coverage, you will remain opted out. |
| Health/Personal Spending Account | The annual spending account contribution will default to the HSA. |
| Basic life and AD&D insurance | 1x salary rounded to the next higher $1,000 (if your salary amount is a multiple of $1,000, your coverage amount will not be rounded up to the next $1,000). Coverage is reduced by 50% at age 65. |
| Optional life insurance | Same as you have today. |
| Optional AD&D insurance | Same as you have today. |
| Business travel accident insurance | 4x salary rounded to the next higher $1,000, if not already a multiple of $1,000 (no enrolment needed). |
| Short-term disability insurance | Coverage is 67% of your base salary |
| Long-term disability insurance | Same as you have today (coverage stops at age 65). |
| Critical Illness Insurance | Same as you have today. |
| Voluntary benefits (Home, Auto, Pet, and Identity Restoration Insurance) | You can enrol in these benefits at any time during the year. You will continue to participate in your current coverage elections. |
| Other benefits (EAP, on-demand digital mental health support, etc.) | Same as you have today, and you don’t need to enrol in these benefits |
How do I choose between Health Care Modules A, B and C?
Consider your expected medical, dental and vision needs, your preferred level of coverage, and the employee contributions associated with each option. Review the 2027 Benefits Guide for a detailed comparison of coverage and costs.
Why should I review and update my beneficiary information?
One of the most important ways you can protect your financial wellbeing is by designating your beneficiary(ies) — the person or persons you want to receive benefits if you pass away. You can change beneficiaries at any time and, in fact, it’s a good idea to review and update your beneficiary information to make sure all the information is complete and up to date. If you die and have no beneficiaries on file or if your beneficiary information is outdated, there could be a significant delay in payment (or no payment at all) during an already challenging time for your loved ones. You can update your beneficiary designations for life and AD&D insurance on the AECOM Benefits Service Centre website. Beneficiaries for each product under the AECOM Retirement and Savings Plan can be updated in your Sun Life account at mysunlife.ca/aecom.
New hires
What do I need to do as a new hire?
If you join AECOM between November 6 and December 31, 2026, you must enrol twice:
- Within 31 days of hire, to choose your benefits for 2026. Coverage is retroactive to your hire date.
- Then, after you elect your 2026 benefits, you will immediately be prompted to choose your benefits for 2027 and will have one day to complete enrolment.
There will be an enrolment blackout period from December 10, 2026 – January 1, 2027. As a new hire, if you have not enrolled as of December 10, you will have the opportunity to enrol beginning January 2, 2027, for both 2026 and 2027 benefits.
What happens if I am a new hire and I forget to enrol? What is the default election?
If you do not actively enrol, you will be automatically enrolled in Health Care Module A. Module A provides basic medical coverage with a $1,000 annual deductible and does not include dental or paramedical coverage.
AECOM covers the full cost of Module A, so you pay $0 in employee contributions for this coverage. If you want comprehensive health, dental, and paramedical coverage, be sure to explore and actively enrol in Module B or Module C.
Family and dependents
Who qualifies as a dependent?
The following dependents are eligible for AECOM’s benefits as long as they are enrolled in a provincial health care program:
- Your legal spouse, or your common-law spouse with whom you have lived for at least one year, of either sex
- Your unmarried dependent children, under age 21
- Your dependent children attending college or university full time, under age 25 (26 for Quebec residents). (Every year, you will be asked to confirm their status as full-time college or university students)
- Your physically or mentally handicapped children of any age if they are wholly dependent on you for support
If you are a new hire, you must add your spouse and/or dependents to your health and dental plan within 31 days of your hire date.
Spending accounts
What is the difference between a Health Spending Account (HSA) and a Personal Spending Account (PSA)?
AECOM provides a spending account that can help cover eligible expenses for you and your dependents. You can direct your allocation to a Health Spending Account (HSA), a Personal Spending Account (PSA), or split it between the two. Generally, an HSA is used for eligible health and dental expenses, while a PSA can be used for a broader range of wellness and lifestyle expenses. If you do not make an election, your allocation will automatically be deposited into your HSA.
