Choose benefits for the life you’re building
2027 U.S. Benefits Open Enrollment is October 19 – November 6
Open Enrollment is your opportunity to review your coverage, understand what’s changing for 2027, and make any updates for you and your family by November 6.
Most of your current benefit elections will automatically carry over into 2027, including your medical coverage and Health Savings Account (HSA) contribution election. However, Flexible Spending Account (FSA) elections do not carry over and must be re-elected each year.

What’s changing for 2027
- Medical plan premiums will increase for 2027, but AECOM will continue to cover most of the cost for medical coverage to keep your benefits as affordable as possible.
- The prices for medical services and prescription drugs, plus the increased demand for health care services, combined with the administrative complexity of the health care system, all contribute to rising medical costs each year.
- To comply with IRS requirements for HSA-qualified health plans, the embedded deductible for the UHC HDHP Premier and Kaiser $2500 plans for employees covering dependents will increase to $3,500 in 2027.
- While medical costs are increasing, there are no employee cost increases or plan changes for dental, vision or voluntary benefits in 2027. We have negotiated multi-year rate agreements so costs will stay stable and predictable for the next few years.
- As you enroll online, you’ll be able to see all your benefit premium amounts.
- IRS HSA contribution limits are increasing for 2027 to $4,500 for self-only coverage and $9,000 for family coverage, plus a $1,000 catch-up contribution for those age 55 and older.
- IRS maximum contribution limits for Health Care FSAs are increasing for 2027, with the annual contribution limit rising to $3,500.
- Beginning January 1, 2027, life insurance, AD&D, and disability and leave administration will transition from The Hartford to New York Life.
- Most employees won’t need to take any action, and current elections will automatically carry over.
- Plan features and coverage rules will remain the same.
- You will benefit from lower supplemental life insurance rates, a new $20,000 Child Life Insurance option, and a special opportunity during Open Enrollment to enroll in or increase supplemental life insurance and long-term disability coverage without Evidence of Insurability requirements.
- More details can be found in the New York Life Transition FAQ.
- Eligible UHC and Surest members diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes will have access to Virta, a personalized program to help you manage your condition and improve your health. The program is fully covered by AECOM and available at no additional cost to you. Additional information will be provided in early 2027.
- UHC and Surest members also continue to have access to cancer screening and surgery support programs through Color and Carrum Health – at little or no cost to you.
